It has been 11 years since the horrific attack on the World Trade Center in New York City. For that I have made a remembrance banner that you can post and share. I have posted it on my facebook page. I will also share it here. Do you remember where you were on this day? I do. I was working at Albany Medical College. I was a little disappointed when I asked my nine year old son if he knew what this day meant. He had no clue. I figured by 4th grade they would have taught that, but hopefully they will learn today.

Firecracker Ice Pops

Ingredients
- 1/2lb strawberries, hulled and quartered (1 1/2 cups)
- 1/4 cup sugar
- 1/2lb blueberries (1 1/2 cups)
- 1 1/4 cup low-fat plain yogurt
Directions

| In a food processor, puree strawberries with 1 tablespoon sugar. Transfer to a small bowl. In processor, puree blueberries with 1 tablespoon sugar. In another small bowl, whisk together yogurt and 2 tablespoons sugar. Pour the 3 mixtures, alternating, into ten 3-ounce ice-pop molds, making 3 to 5 layers in each. With a skewer or thin-bladed knife, swirl mixtures together in an up-and-down motion. Insert ice-pop sticks and freeze until solid, 2 1/2 to 3 hours (or up to 1 week). | |

Red, White, and Blue Fruit Cups

Ingredients
- 1 pint fresh strawberries
- 1 pint fresh blueberries
- 1 pint fresh blackberries
- 1/4 cup granulated sugar
- 1 pint heavy whipping cream
Directions
| Step 1 | |
| Slice strawberries and combine in a bowl with blue and/or blackberries. Sprinkle berries with two teaspoons sugar. Whip cream until soft peaks form and sweeten with remaining sugar. Serve berries in small cups with generous spoonfuls of fresh whipped cream. | |

Patriotic Popsicles

Ingredients
- 1 1/4 cup sliced fresh strawberries, divided
- 1 3/4 cup (14 ounces) vanilla yogurt, divided
- 1 1/4 cup fresh or frozen blueberries, divided
- 12 Popsicle molds or paper cups (3 ounces each)
Directions
| Step 1 | |
| Place 1 cup strawberries and 2 tablespoons yogurt in a blender; cover and process until blended. Chop remaining strawberries; stir into strawberry mixture. Transfer to a small bowl and set aside. | |
| Step 2 | |
| In a blender, process 1 cup blueberries and 2 tablespoons yogurt until blended; stir in remaining blueberries. | |
| Step 3 | |
| Layer 1 tablespoon strawberry mixture, 2 tablespoons yogurt and 1 tablespoon blueberry mixture in each mold or cup; top with holders or insert sticks into cups. Freeze. Yield: 1 dozen. | |
