What’s worse than an unorganized school night or morning? Horrible drivers? Nah. Getting that text from your child saying they forgot something. Mine is usually “I forgot my wrestling stuff” or “I forgot lunch money” My son is now 13, yeah a teenager. He will be starting High School next year. I need to get him to get his act together. I work 9-5, Monday – Friday. I had to run out to the Middle School this morning, AFTER I dropped him off for Jazz Band practice because he forgot to grab the wrestling gear. So I figured enough. I made a check list for him. I know what he needs to do morning and night. I made it seven days a week because you never know.

If you would like to give it a try, go a head and download it.

0617161720When I got the Circuit Maze Board Game I didn’t know what to think, but when my son started playing 0617161720awith it he loved it. He went though the cards and even made up his own logic for me to solve. There needs to be more games like this. You can literally just sit for hours and do so many different combinations. I have always loved games to make you think. Better then just sitting in front of the T.V., computer, video games, tablet or any other electronics they have out. If you have a kid that is logical or your logical yourself, then I would recommend this game.

**I received this product either free or at a discounted rate for my honest review**

Since my son has become a teenager, it has become harder to find affordable things to do during the summer. He does go to a summer camp, but it’s only a few hours a day. Plus it’s pricey. So I’ve been trying to come up with some ideas for close trips. Every time I put in New York it always gives me NYC. As a New Yorker, NYC is not the same. There is a huge state. Upstate is beautiful. The state parks, hiking. It’s endless. So I’ve been trying to come up with ideas. I live around the Albany area so most things are within a few hours. I’m close to the border of Massachusetts too. Here are some of the places I enjoy.

State Parks

Museums

Caves

I will add more as I think of some. If you have any ideas please let me know.

Steven Universe

Ok I’m a sucker. My son just loves the Steven Universe cartoon, it shows on Cartoon Network. He will talk about it and draw pictures. He’s actually quite good. I’ll have to share some when I get my hands on them. So last night he was talking about a few of the episodes and I was just sitting there like uh huh. I’ve never really watched them. I’ll watch a YouTube clip with him. So I’m sitting here at work and figured I would watch one. Just so I can actually understand what he’s talking about. It was pretty good. It’s hard to share what the show is actually about, so here’s what Steven Universe Wiki says:

First airing on November 4th, 2013, Steven Universe is a coming-of-age story told from the perspective of Steven, the youngest member of the group, the Crystal Gems, a team of magical guardians, and protectors of the Universe. The animated series was conceived as part of the shorts development initiative at Cartoon Network Studios, and is created by Emmy and Annie Award-nominated writer and storyboard artist, Rebecca Sugar. Sugar is Cartoon Network’s first solo female show creator.

It has actually made me want to watch more. Does that make me a strange parent or a parent that is actually into what her kid does. Yes he’s my only one and he’s turning 13 in July! I just embeded the episode I just watch called Super Watermelon Island.

I would like to know. Have you watched a show that your kid(s) have watched to know what they are talking about or have you just faked it? I’d like to hear your thoughts on this one.
