Getting My Son To Read August 15, 2012

I’m not one of those parents that bribes my kid to do things, so I came up with an incentive to get my 9 year old son to read. I made a reading chart.  Since he likes to read books like Diary of a Wimpy Kid and Big Nate which don’t have chapters, I came up with a star system. For every ten pages he reads he gets a star. For every trip to the library he gets three stars plus one star for every book he checks out and finishes reading.  It’s been working well.  He had made a chart to keep track of his progress, but it got a little confusing month to month so I made one so at the end of the month he gets a reward. I’m including the template which you can edit to fit your needs.
